The Baseball Journey

At Raised In Baseball, we are passionate about baseball and its community. Our journey began with a love for the game, and we aim to share that enthusiasm with fellow players and fans.

Ive documented my baseball career from the early ages of elementary all the way to where I am today. Currently playing Division 1 baseball at Texas State University as a Bobcat!  Ive had a ton of help along the way from private coaches who have played and coached in the MLB, to companies who have reached out and wanted to be a part of my journey and so many other people who have helped along the way. 

It's my turn to try and give back.

Through my high school years to was great to play at Southlake Carroll a power house in baseball and football at the 6A division. 

My Freshman year, the school had 2 Freshman teams, 2 JV Teams and 1 Varsity team. 

For me freshman year I played Shortstop on the tier 1 team. 

My Sophomore year I competed at the varsity level. Typically you would find me starting as the third base,  first base or a designated hitter. 

Playing along side guys who after that season would go on to play at Arizona, Texas A&M, Texas and DBU. Was great to learn and be a part of a team with these guys. I broke my hamate bone that season and was back playing in games 14 days later ( BE LOOKING FOR THAT STORY IN A NEWSLETTER ) That year we graduated 26 Seniors off the varsity team and lost in the second round of the state playoffs  

My junior year we bring back turn over the roster for the majority of position players as well as pitchers. 

That year I play the majority of the games at 3rd but get some time at SS and a few at 2nd. That season had some crazy things happen at the end of the year and the season gets cut short in the 3rd round of the playoffs. 

The senior year was the best year. Lots of returners! Everyone knew their roles and we had some great team chemistry that we laid the foundation for years earlier. 

Tons of stories about recruiting to be shared later ( NEWSLETTER ) The energy of that year was incredible. Every player had each others back. We lose that season in the Quarter Finals! Freak accident takes out our expected pitcher minutes before the first pitch.  Again- Will be sharing that story later.  

Off to play summer ball with the Marshalls in Salt Lake City, Utah. What an amazing experience that was. 

Which brings me to COLLEGE. I play baseball at Texas State University. We are the Bobcats! and you can find us in San Marcos, Texas also known as Slam Marcos! 

During my recruiting process I spoke with over 45 D1 colleges starting in my junior year. 

My Junior year summer ( rising Senior year )  I played for Chase Brewster with the Whitesox Scout team.  I was the only uncommitted player on that team. My teammates where all committed to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and then there was me. The guy who was still looking for the right "fit". I played 3B on that team and typically batted in the 3-4 hole all season long.  That summer had lots of conversations with colleges- and right as I was figuring out the right college fit, the NCAA announces that college rosters will be going from 40 to 34. 

That... Changed a lot of things. Some colleges who were putting together offer letters, literally called and said with the changes we won't be offering you. 

Tough pill to swallow, but God has a plan for sure. Based on all the information I was receiving about the changes for the 2025-2026 season. It was looking like the JUCO route was going to be the best path for me. 

I was recruited aggressively by McLennan in Waco Texas. I had the opportunity to to get to know the coaches at the time Coach Johnson and Coach Rockwell for almost 2 years and they laid out a plan for me on how I would develop, how 4 year colleges would be able to see me and what the path to me playing in year one would ne. So I signed. 

After graduation I played summer ball in the Marshalls collegiate league. Where I put up some big numbers with the stick and the glove. 

That's when all the 4 year colleges came back with strong offers. Crazy thing about recruiting that I didnt know about, but there is a time the summer of your graduate year that 4 year school are finding out who they are losing to the portal and who they are losing to the draft. 

For you that means roster sports AND great scholarship opportunities can show up. 

In the end, I had some great conversations with the coaches at Texas State and jumped at the opportunity to with this coaching staff.

So that's where I am now- Working every day with my great teammates, managers and coaches to compete and get better every day and chase the dream.
